The Musikkombinat solidary party. With drinks, dance, DJs and good karma!

We want to celebrate with our loved ones and give our bank account a small buffer at the same time. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Max Fuchs and Sebastian Vandrey, two team members, for taking over the organization of the event and making a great campaign possible for us and you. SOLIDARITY PARTY FOR WHAT?

For ourselves this time. We want to combine the pleasant with the charitable: A celebration for you and us, with music and dance and the opportunity to collect donations at the same time. This helps to cover our fixed costs (~6,000€/year). We can also use the evening as an opportunity to talk about our association and the collective behind it and what we have been doing for Magdeburg's cultural scene for 11 years.

WHAT ARE THESE FIXED COSTS?

Warehouse rent, bank fees, insurance, artists' social security contributions, association membership (due to GEMA), cloud storage, website domain, web hosting and social media tools. To do this, a cable or light source must also be replaced over the year. This brings together a total of around 6,000€ per year.

ARE THESE COSTS NOT COVERED BY THE EVENTS?

No. As a cultural association, we are actually not allowed to earn a “plus” with cultural events. We would also prefer to calculate our concerts at ±0 so that admission is as cheap as possible for you. This is our contribution to a low-threshold cultural offering for as many people as possible.

HOW ARE SUCH FIXED COSTS NORMALLY COVERED?

Some associations do this partly with membership fees, but as pure volunteers, this is out of the question for us. Then we'll have some income from booking agencies and equipment rental for outsiders. Mainly, however, we only have the opportunity to collect donations. Hence the solidarity party.

SO IS THE CLUB DOING POORLY FINANCIALLY?

Yes... We currently have no acute concerns about not being able to pay bills. However, we cannot predict how donations will develop over the next few months. That's why we simply want to give ourselves a buffer for the year with the solo party.

WHAT HAPPENS IF FIXED COSTS CANNOT BE COVERED?

This is a rare case. But if so, the club's board (Nadine Staats, Philipp Kloß and Gina Mund) will have to pay privately. For volunteer work, this is of course bitter and actually unreasonable.

SO HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE ASSOCIATION?

Feel free to come to the solidarity party and tell your people about it too. It's best to bring them along right away. Maybe just an hour.
